The West Woods
By Tara Reddick

Developed by Mulgrave Road Theatre, The West Woods was written by Tara Reddick and inspired by a rural Black community in Guysborough County. Set in 1968, a time of social change and upheaval, it focuses on the Clarke Family and gives a human face to the struggles of the time while challenging the traditional expectations of the rural Black woman.

“A dynamic story of family challenges and change”

“Amazing theatre”

“This play did what good art does best; informed and stimulated its audience”
