STAGES Theatre Festival presents:
The Peace Project
Thu, May 18, 2017 at 8pm
Palliative Care through Art Communication and Engagement (PEACE) project is a 60 minute interactive performance piece that focuses on demystifying palliative care. Through open and frank conversations intended to raise awareness, this piece addresses social stigmas and stereotypes surrounding palliative care, death and dying. The performance is based on the shared stories of patients living with advanced life limiting illnesses and caregivers who are either currently caring for or have cared for a loved one who has died.
The project is fully funded by the Canadian Cancer Society and is an interprovincial research collaboration (Halifax, Montreal and Toronto) led by Dr. Brenda Sabo (Dalhousie School of Nursing).
Artistic and creative development is led by Transitus, a multi-disciplinary performing arts company specializing in Art Communication directed by Alexis Milligan, and Faculty and 4 students from the Fountain School for the Performing Arts:
Performers are: Zac Comeau, Stepheny Hunter, Michelle Raine, and Samantha Thompson.
Set and lightening design by Steve Lucas.
